All of our products are made from annually renewable resources only! Our wide range of compostable products include clear cups with lids, hot cups, Pulp lids, PLA lined food tubs, CPLA vented lids and much more
*All products are compostable at commercial or industrialized composting facilities
Polylactic Acid refers to polymers from sugar molecules extracted from annually renewable plant sources such as corn, cassava, sugarcane, beets, etc. The extracted molecules are then refined to form pellet like resins that are used to make our PLA products (i.e. Clear Cups & containers, straws or lined paper products). CPLA is a crystalized form of PLA that allows products to withstand higher heats. (i.e. Food tub lids, and tasting forks & spoons). PLA can degrade in industrial composting facilities, where it is broken down into water, carbon dioxide, and organic matter only!
Bagasse is made from the residual fibers of sugarcane stalks after the juice has been extracted. This renewable resource is typically thrown out and burnt. Instead, we grind this material down to a pulp paper board, then use it to mold out our cup lids, plates, clamshells, cutlery, etc. This material is great for both hot or cold products. One of the key advantages to bagasse disposables, is how easily they can biodegrade. Along with grease or food scraps, bagasse products can break down into water, carbon dioxide and organic matter when put into an industrialized composting facility.
Paperboard refers to a sturdy material that comes from wood pulp. Wood pulp is processed into a pulp slurry that is then pressed and dried to form sheets. We use FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper to manufacture our products. By laminating our paperboard with PLA (instead of traditional plastic), we are able to produce biodegradable paper cups and food tubs. This lining ensures it is leak proof, and can be used for hot or cold application. These products are also BPI certified, which indicates it is compostable when placed in an industrialized composting facility.
We use vegetable, soy or water based inks only when printing on our products! Vegetable based dyes are derived from natural resources such as plants, vegetables, fruits, and minerals. They are a much more sustainable and safer alternative to synthetic inks. They tend to have a lower impact on the environment when compared to synthetic dyes which can release harmful chemicals and pollutants into the air and water. By used eco-friendly dyes, this ensure our products will remain compostable and leave no logo prints behind when disposed off in an industrial composting facility.
Our approach to sustainable eco friendly products mean they come from the earth, that can then be returned to the earth leaving no harmful chemicals or toxins behind.
